Care Guide

The short version

A dry or lightly damp soft cloth handles almost everything we sell. Skip harsh chemicals and abrasive pads and most of our range will outlast the room it sits in.

Wood

Wipe with a dry or barely damp cloth, then dry it straight away. Standing water is the main enemy of a wooden top, so use coasters and mop up spills quickly. Keep pieces out of direct sunlight where you can, since strong light will lighten the finish unevenly over time.

Fabric and upholstery

Vacuum regularly with a brush attachment. Blot spills rather than rubbing them, working from the outside of the mark inwards. Test any cleaner on a hidden section first. Bean bags and cushions keep their shape better if you fluff and rotate them every few weeks.

Faux leather and PU

A damp cloth and a dry one afterwards. Do not use alcohol, solvents or anything abrasive, since these strip the top coat and cause cracking. Keep it away from direct heat sources like radiators.

Metal and resin

Dust with a dry cloth. For fingerprints, a slightly damp cloth then dry immediately. Copper and other bare metals will develop a patina with handling, which is normal, and a soft polish will bring the shine back if you prefer it bright.

Lighting and electronics

Unplug before cleaning. Dust with a dry cloth only. Never spray liquid directly onto a lamp, LED strip or powered item, and keep moisture away from connectors and controllers.

Rugs and mats

Vacuum regularly. Spot clean with a mild solution and blot dry. Check the product page before machine washing, since not all of them can take it.
